Heartwarming Bond: Goat Leans on Cow, Deeming Him ‘His Son,’ Unveiling a Tale of Unlikely Friendship and Emotional Connection

A cow and goat that fell on hard times are now living a peaceful life at an animal sanctuary. Sid the goat and Rem the cow were rescued from a dairy farm. “Sid the goat is 17 years old and has raised Rem the jersey steer since he was a tiny baby,” says Mockingbird Farm Sanctuary. “They sleep together every night.”

When their original rescuer could no longer care for them she asked neighbors to take care of them.

The people did the best they could but Sid and Rem didn’t have regular access to feed, hay or warm shelter. As result, the neighbors asked if Mockingbird Farm Sanctuary would take the senior animals in. When Sid saw the other animals at the sanctuary he sprung into the air in delight.

His rescuers quickly noticed that he would attach himself to Rem like a magnet. At their previous home, Sid would get very cold so he would lean on Rem for warmth.

Even though they’ve got a cosy shelter now, Sid will still lean on Rem on cool nights. Sid also prefers the company of the cows and recently when Sid, who is now 17, had to go to the vet for a 5 day stay, Rem looked everywhere for him. So he was very relieved when Sid returned.

Sid was equally happy to reunite with Rem, who he considers his “son.”

Here’s a longer video of Sid warming up on his best friend.
