A Second Chance at Happiness: Blind Rescue Dog Finds Hope and Joy

Blind Rescue Dog Gets A Second Chance At Happiness

Being a pet owner means accepting that the unexpected might pop up, including medical emergencies.

For the most part, we’re able to handle the unexpected surprises that life throws our way.

But on occasion, the struggles of our pets get too much for some owners to handle, and so they need to find alternative means of care.

For one dog owner, that meant reaching out to Sidewalk Specials for help. The rescue organization was running their outreach program in De Doorns, South Africa, when they were introduced to the sweet little Chuckie.

His owner had decided it was best to hand him over, given that he could no longer care for him in the right manner.

As it turned out, Chuckie, who was four years old, was starting to go blind. And because of that, his owner could no longer keep him safe and care for him.

Sidewalk Specials took Chuckie in, and their vets confirmed that he was completely blind in his left eye, and was going partially blind in his right one. But just because he’s losing his sight, that didn’t mean that he wasn’t entitled to a happily ever after.

As a result, the rescue was ready to find Chuckie a brand new home with people who can care for him. According to Sidewalk Specials, Chuckie is a little sweetheart who enjoys the company of other dogs, cats, and kids. He can also go for walks, as he is able to follow sounds or shadows.

Hopefully he finds his happily ever after!
