It is absolutely heartbreaking to see animals being neglected and left to fend for themselves. There were two small dogs who were living very miserable and isolating lives atop a rooftop in Mexico City.
The conditions were horrible. They were just chained up and left to their own devices for a whole two years!
According to The Dodo, one of the dogs, Terry, and his companion, had to exist like that for two years before a neighbor managed to file a complaint with the Mexican authorities and the two dogs were removed from the situation.
In that time, the two small dogs had become so matted from their lack of care, that they must have been experiencing real pain and discomfort.
Thankfully, their situations were able to improve when they were finally freed and rescued by Silvia of La Casa del Mestizo.
The first thing the rescue did was shave them down. That process in itself took a whole four hours! But, it was the fresh start that these dogs needed.
Terry’s companion was quickly adopted, and he eventually went off to live in Montreal with his new family. However, Terry had to wait a bit longer before he got his happily every after. But, thanks to the help of West Coast Paws, Terry found himself getting adopted seven months later by Lee and Danny.
According to The Dodo, a couple had seen Terry on the West Coast Paws website, quickly falling in love with him. However, there was one minor detail to hash out. Terry was in Mexico, and the couple lived up in Vancouver, Canada…so just how would he get there?
Well, some volunteers managed to get Terry as far as Seattle, and from there Lee and Danny came to pick him up. The couple dote on him, and have even given him the new name of Teddy!
