Trapped Elephant Is Rescued By A Digger After Getting Stuck In The Mud While Taking A Bath

A JCB is required to rescue a baby elephant that becomes stuck in the mud. In southern Iɴᴅɪᴀ, the unfortunate animal was attempting to cool off by taking a mud bath. But the infant got mired in the slippery muck in Karnataka’s Bandipur Tiger Reserve.

The poor elephant is seen lying on its side in a big mud pool, trying to escape. The digger was sent to rescue the frail animal before any predators could strike, but it appeared to be growing worn out.

The local forestry authority was contacted after bystanders helped the elephant get up. The driver gently poked the elephant with the digger to assist it in rising from its lying down position.

After pulling itself out of the muck, the elephant was able to stand upright in the muddy water. In order for the elephant to stand alone and escape from the muck, the digger turned around. Forest officials kept an eye on it after its ordeal for a few hours, then released it when it seemed to be in good health.

Elephants have a very important reason for rolling around in the mud, it’s not just for fun. Since they have very little hair and sweat glands, they have a difficult time staying cool in the blazing sun. They are protected from the sun and potentially ᴅᴀɴɢᴇʀᴏᴜs insects by the dirt, which also keeps them cool. Although it has a tough exterior, its skin is actually extremely delicate and vulnerable to sunburn.
