As Ashli Garza was heading to a meeting, she spotted a dog on the side of a busy highway in Texas. The dog had a chain around her neck and could have been hit by cars passing by. Being a freelance rescuer, Ashli did not think twice before stopping to rescue the homeless dog.
I was faced with a dilemma when I encountered the issue of stray dogs in my vicinity. Handling them was no easy feat as most of them were either mistreated or too scared to approach. After much deliberation, I devised a plan to capture a picture of the dog before it scurried away. Luckily, we had a lost and found dogs Facebook page, and I hoped that uploading the picture might aid in reuniting the dog with its rightful owner.
The lady spotted a filthy dog with a large, rusty chain around her neck. The dog appeared to be in a terrible condition with dirt all over her body. Ashly was amazed when she noticed that the only damage the dog had suffered was minor skin irritation and peeling. She couldn’t believe that the dog could even lift her head up. Even though Ashli had a job appointment and her friend’s wedding dress in her car, which she couldn’t afford to soil, she couldn’t stand the thought of abandoning the poor dog who seemed to have been left alone by her previous owner.
In her recollection of the events, she remembers thinking about the potential disaster that could unfold when she saw the dirty and grimy pup. She had her friend’s wedding dress in the backseat of her car, and she feared the worst. Despite her hesitations, Ashli felt compelled to rescue the small furry creature and persuaded it to join her in the car. Unfortunately, the puppy was restrained by a heavy chain, and Ashli struggled to release it without any assistance. Throughout the ordeal, Ashli kept an eye on the pup through the rearview mirror and sought aid from her date.
