Strange Behavior: A Spectacular Encounter as Bison Charges Grizzly Bear in Yellowstone National Park

Watch out for this guy…

Ain’t nobody wants the largest animal around the be chasing them down, not even a grizzly bear.

Grizzly bears are some of the toughest animals out there. Their size and strength make it pretty easy to be the toughest customer in town, with some weighing over 1,000 pounds. These beasts bite, fight and claw their way through the harshest environments out there.

And as much as the love to have a go at a bison, they know when to pick their battles.

Bison are the largest animal in North America, weighing up to 2,000 pounds. That’s more than double the average grizzly bear.

Bison have thick skin and fur with a thick skull to go with their head butts. A bison’s sheer size is their best defense mechanism.

But does it work?

Well, this grizzly certainly wanted no part.

This Yellowstone National Park bison is seen bee-lining it straight for a grizzly bear grazing in the distance. The bear seems to be minding its own business, perhaps not even interested in the bison, but the bison wasn’t gonna wait around to find out.

The bison keeps on its path and the moment the grizzly notices the bison on route, it takes off in a full sprint.

A front row seat to the beauty and wonder of the wild.
