There are two types of people in this world: Those who like to watch videos like this, and those who wish to avoid cruel nature clips at all cost.
I’m assuming that since you clicked on this story, you lean towards weirdly enjoying brutal nature encounters. This is a judgement free zone, so feel free to read on about this Komodo Dragon making short work of a helpless baby goat. For the other types of people who don’t like this kind of stuff, this is your final warning to still get out while you can.
Nature is often an unfair place, as this video below will showcase. This baby goat deserved a chance to live, but the Komodo Dragon that came strolling along could not have disagreed more. When a small, injured goat and a powerful, fully grown Komodo Dragon cross paths, one is obviously going to come away better than the other.
And as it turns out, goats are often times on the menu for Komodo Dragons, which are the largest living lizards in the world. Whether it be baby goats, full sized goats, or even pigs, the big ol’ lizard has no problem gulping them down. In fact, it seems to really enjoy eating animals as fast as it possibly can.
The fact that these large lizards can grow to be over 10-feet long in length and can weigh upwards of 180 pounds is astounding. Pair that with their ability to reach a respectable speed of 12 miles per hour on land and you’ve officially got yourself a live action Jurassic Park creature.
I don’t know if the Jurassic Park movies ever showed anything as gnarly as this though:
I mean…that might as well have been a magic trick. The Komodo Dragon made that little goat disappear in less than 30 seconds, and just like how I am when I go to an all-you-can-eat buffet, it looked like it could easily go for seconds.
Many who have viewed the video have marveled at the Komodo Dragon’s ability to consume at such a high rate of speed (they should’ve seen me at Christmas dinner), but most of everyone else can’t help but feel sorry for the baby goat who went out in the worst way imaginable:
