A small dog hit by a car and then suffering heatstroke survived by a miracle. Ermioni Giannakou with DAR Animal Rescue received a call about the dog who she was told had been lying by the side of a road and not moving for three hours. When she arrived she found the dog passed out under the hot sun.
Ermioni tried to give the dog water but she wasn’t responding so she rushed the dog to the veterinarian where she was diagnosed with heatstroke and a broken pelvis.
The dog was in such bad shape she stayed in hospital for several weeks but she wouldn’t let anyone touch her. Finally, after a month, she had healed enough to go into foster care where another miracle took place.
Her foster family has worked magic because this little survivor has come out of her shell and is walking and happy. “She is such a brave young dog and we are so happy to see her walking again,” writes Ermioni. “From now on she will be in safe place, with love, food, water.”
Although the dog isn’t good playing with other dogs, the cats and chickens have become her friends and her fosterer wants to adopt her! Ermioni says, “She will have a good and safe life.”
