Anyone want to try and break up the fight between these two bull elk?
No? Didn’t think so. You’d have to be the perfect mixture of courageous and stupid to step in the middle of these two clashing wild animals. As always, it’s best to just let nature take its course, or stand a safe distance away and get it on video.
Fully grown bull elk can weigh upwards of 700 pounds, and stand as tall as five feet. When you factor in that their antlers alone count for around 40 pounds of their weight, there’s no doubt that these beasts shouldn’t be messed with.
That is unless you, yourself, are an elk, and feel like challenging another of your kind like these two towering animals in this video. It at least appears that these two monsters were battling for the right to mate with a nearby cow elk… who didn’t seem to care at all.
Typical male behavior in this video. Fighting over a woman while the cow elk (I can’t imagine female elk are flattered by being called cows) grazed away without a care in the world, and certainly not a care in the winner of battle happening right next to her. Hilariously, she never once looked up.
But the two bull elk were too busy being locked into an antler-clashing feud to notice. Both animals asserted their power, and showcased a mighty tug-of-war match of sorts as their antlers got intertwined.
Was there a winner of the elk war? Yes there was, and it wasn’t either of the male elk. Clearly the cow elk championed this situation, and did so by not paying attention whatsoever to the large animals that were brawling for her favor.
The video cuts off as the bull elks’ antlers continue to clash, and they likely kept it up for quite some time. I just hope that the cow elk walked off at one point uninterested and the bulls didn’t even notice. That would have been the perfect ending.
