Clash of the titans: The two gorillas are seen grappling with each other in their enclosure in a zoo in Omaha
It is a showdown usually reserved for wildlife documentaries and Hollywood blockbusters.
But these two adult male gorillas were captured pummeling each other in a violent fight just feet away from shocked visitors at the Henry Doorly Zoo in Omaha, Nebraska.
The animals were filmed charging around before coming to blows in one corner of the enclosure, baring their fangs at each other as they battled for supremacy.
In the mobile phone clip, taken by Shannon W. Olsen and uploaded to YouTube, visitors can be heard shrieking in fear as the beasts come within inches of the glass.
It comes nearly a year after a 375-pound male silverback at the zoo broke the glass of the exhibit.
The video starts with one of the gorillas leaping down the grassy hill towards the glass, threateningly waving its fist in the air.
The animal turns and walks on all fours towards another gorilla standing at the back of their habitat.
Facing off: The two animals break apart and stare each other down as the visitors look on in shock
Ferocious: One of the gorillas bares its fangs as it launches forward and lands another blow on its opponent
As the first gorilla pauses to look at visitors standing at a second viewing platform, the second gorilla charges past and down towards the bottom of the enclosure.
Within moments, the first gorilla turns and gives chase.
The two large gorillas rise on to their legs as they collide in front of the glass, prompting some of the guests to scream in shock.
Vicious: The dramatic scene was captured on a mobile phone by a woman standing just feet away
Showdown: Tufts of hair were sent flying as the massive apes wrestled with each other in a corner
Defeated: One of the gorillas launched a final counter-attack before turning and walking away
One of the gorillas charges at the other, shoving it backwards. Tufts of hair are sent flying through the air as the animals start viciously punching each other.
One of the gorillas launches itself one last time before turning away, apparently admitting defeat.
While one adult visitor is heard asking where the zookeepers are, the younger visitors sounds more impressed than scared. One boy is declares the scene ‘awesome’ before the clip ends.
