The number of stray dogs in the world continues to be on the rise. Even with a virus circulating the world, a lot of people kept working hard to save these unfortunate canines on the streets and give them a well-deserving home.
One of these stray dogs trying to survive on the streets is Elsa. But even though Elsa didn’t have a home, she wasn’t alone.
Ray Animal Rescue, a non-profit rescue organization based in Romania, works hard to give the local stray cats and dogs a new home. The organization was founded and led by Raisa Giulia. One day, Raisa and her team went on to search for a large balding dog that someone reported to them.
The team searched for hours, and they finally lucked out when the dog they were looking for directly approached them instead; they immediately named that dog as Elsa.
“I think she knew we were trying to help her,” Raisa told The Dodo.
They can’t bring Elsa anywhere without her best friend.
When Raisa and her team first found this balding pooch, she brought a little friend named Hugo. Elsa was such a friendly pooch that she developed a habit of raising her paw toward humans as if she wants it to shake.
The rescuers knew sweet Elsa would come with them since she clearly trusted humans. But there was one catch: the rescuers had to take both Elsa and Hugo to the car as Elsa wouldn’t budge if her best friend was left behind.
Elsa’s skin problem was worse than the rescuers thought.
Raisa noticed that the balding affected most of Elsa’s body. She safely assumed that some type of mite was responsible for Elsa’s balding. She knew that Elsa required immediate medical treatment and so they took her to the vet along with Hugo. There was almost no fur left above Elsa’s reddened skin.
Elsa’s magical transformation in just 6 months.
Ray Animal Rescue focused on Elsa’s treatment so that they could find her a new home as soon as possible. While Elsa was still in treatment, her friend Hugo was adopted. Six months later, Elsa recovered most of her fur. She just looked friendlier and lovelier than ever. Raisa then transferred Elsa to a foster home so that they could take care of her before a family decides to take her home permanently.
Elsa’s foster family immediately grew to love the sweet dog.
Elsa was supposed to stay at the foster home with Andreea and Maria for two to three days. However, the foster family quickly grew attached to her. The foster parents even admitted to crying when a family went to go and check out Elsa. When that family told them they couldn’t take her, they finally decided that she would stay with them forever.
The giant pooch is now happy in the hands of Andreea and Maria.
Both Andreea and Maria love their Elsie [Elsa]. They know that Elsa feels the same way for them as she always shows her affection toward them. With her new coat of white fur and her new loving fur-parents, there is nothing more that she could ask for.
