Despite being too ill to be saved, Sophie Nacer was determined to provide this homeless dog with the best possible final days. The 19-year-old founder of Cayleb’s Kindred Senior Dog Rescue, Sophiane, ensured that Hippo experienced his happiest day ever, even if it was just for a brief moment.
Sophiane decided to adopt Hippo from the shelter and took him home after waiting for five days. Her uncertainties vanished when she saw his tail wagging happily. Wanting to treat Hippo, Sophiane took him to Starbucks and ordered a Puppuccino, a hidden gem on the menu loved by dogs, which is essentially a cup filled with tasty whipped cream.
The following morning, Hippo was still in high spirits, so Sophiane decided to bring him to a local dog park to have some time to himself. Despite his age and discomfort, the optimistic canine had something important to convey to his newfound companion… all while dealing with his own pain.
Sophiane reached out to a veterinarian who was experienced in providing euthanasia services to come to her residence.
