Attention lion cubs: Do not steal food from dad!
At some point in the last 22 years, we’ve all watched Simba and Mufasa put on a heart-warming show of father-son love in The Lion King. But just like many other parts of that famous tale, things look a little different in real life.
SafariLIVE shared this clip of a young cub pushing the limits with dear old dad earlier this week, along with some helpful advice: in the lion world, don’t get between a male and his meal!
Although lionesses do the bulk of the hunting in a pride, the dominant male is the first to eat when prey is brought back home. Only after he’s had his fill will the other males take their portions, leaving the cubs and lionesses with the table scraps. It seems this feisty youngster hasn’t quite gotten the hang of the social order yet!
