Ageless Spirit: 19-Year-Old Pooch Finds Joy in Fetching, Awaits Loving Permanency in New Home

Although dogs age more rapidly than humans, they can still have an abundance of energy well into their senior years. Despite this, older pets frequently get overlooked in favor of younger puppies, which is a missed opportunity for people to have wonderful companions.

Ace, a crossbreed of a Cattle Dog and a 19-year-old furry companion, is breaking the stereotype that age defines someone’s capabilities. If Ace were a person, he would be a remarkable 135 years old as per the dog calculator.

Despite being a senior dog, this little bundle of energy is always up for walks and playtime, and can even jump into the back of a car without any trouble! He’s currently up for adoption at Sacremento SPCA, and while he may look his age, his actions tell a different story. Although his eyesight is fading, he still has some left to enjoy short games of fetch and strolls in the park. If you’re looking for a furry companion who is young at heart, this senior pup might just be the perfect addition to your family!

This adorable boy is currently under foster care and is receiving all the love and care he deserves until he finds his forever home. According to his foster mom, he still has a very playful and youthful personality despite being 19 years old.

Just a little while ago, she brought Ace to a pet store to treat him to a new toy. Ace was thrilled to hop on board and explore the store’s selection of playthings. After some careful sniffing and nudging, he finally found his match – a bright red fox. Satisfied with his choice, Ace headed straight for the exit, not realizing he needed to pay before leaving.

Ace is a friendly dog who happily coexists with other dogs and cats in his temporary home. On walks, he takes the lead and is not deterred by his age. His foster mother believes that there is a perfect owner out there for him. Ace is house trained and has already mastered the “sit” and “down” commands. He has many more walks, games of fetch, and affectionate kisses to give. If you think Ace could be the ideal pet for you, reach out to the Sacramento SPCA for additional details.

It would be great if you could give a home to an old pet. They also need to feel love and care in their remaining years. Check out the cute clip of Ace selecting his new toy and spread the word!
