Meet Osito, a small pup who recently found himself all alone in the world.
His family had decided that he was no longer wanted, thankfully though, Osito didn’t have to be alone for long
Felicia Quispe Arana decided to take Osito in after learning of his situation. Arana is the founder of Colitas Sin Techo, a homeless dog sanctuary in Cusco, Peru.
Although she wasn’t sure how the other residents at the shelter would react to Osito at first.
“There are no puppies at our shelter. All the dogs are big and most of them are adults,” Arana told The Dodo. “I didn’t know how they’d react to Osito when they met him.”
The dog, who had been apprehensive of the new environment at first, was greeted with such sweetness that it made all the difference.
“At first, Osito was intimidated by the sight of so many large dogs,” Arana said. “[After meeting the other dogs], he felt comfortable and walked around with great confidence.”
The lonely puppy made a lot of new friends right away. But it wasn’t long before he gained something much more important.
Osito quickly found a place to call his own.
“[We were] able to find a person who ended up adopting him,” Arana said. “Now he has a family, and I hope he has a long life and is happy.”
With any luck, the puppy’s new pals from the shelter will find the same happiness.
