A dog cared for her newborn puppies in a ditch by the road where she had been cruelly abandoned. But thanks to Dog Rescue Shelter Mladenovac, Serbia, she and her puppies will have a chance at new lives.
When rescuers arrived, the mama dog was protectively holding one of her pups in her mouth. She was thirst and hungry and as her rescuer approached he looked at her eyes. “I will never forget her sad and frightened eyes,” he wrote. But she bravely let him handle her puppies…she trusted him. And as he rescues them, he makes sure to give each a kiss.
