When a dog’s woman suddenly collapsed during their walk, a Good Samaritan was nearby and helped save the dog’s life!
Jay of BestFetchDog and Animal Rescue Comedy! happened to be in the right place at the right time when he heard a woman screaming for help and that her dog had collapsed.
He shared on YouTube that he immediately ran to her and began administering canine-CPR, which he’d learned through YouTube videos.
He said, “[The dog] was dead, no pulse or heart beat. I knew I had to act fast. I didn’t noticed he was starting to come back until the second round of chest compressions. I felt a jerk in his heart and I knew it was working.”
And it did work! The dog ended up coming to and even managed to stand back up on his own in the bed.
Jay admitted that it was his first time doing CPR on a dog and he’s glad that he learned it and it worked for him.
He advised the dog’s owner to take him to the veterinarian for further evaluation and care.
While canine CPR is similar to human CPR in that it involves chest compressions for an animal without a heartbeat, many people are unfamiliar with the exact technique used.
It’s amazing that Jay was able to educated himself and be at the right place at the right time!
