Rescue Dog Returns To Shelter And Asks To Be Let Back In

When the Animal Rescue League of El Paso finally found a new owner for Bailey, they were happy that she finally found her forever home. Little did they know, Bailey would be back soon ringing their doorbell and asking for help.

Bailey was adopted a month ago when she escaped from her owner’s yard. It’s unclear exactly how she accomplished it but apparently, she’s mixed with a little Houdini and managed to scale their high wall.

Her frantic new owner had no idea where she was going and was looking for her day and night. He already loved the dog and she was part of the family. He just wanted to get her home safe and was worried about her.

Then one night Bailey showed up at the door of her former home, the Animal Rescue League. It was 1:15 am when she rang their doorbell. The staff saw her on the Ring Camera and rushed to let her in.

“Bailey made her way back to ARL and rang our ring doorbell at 1:15 am saying she wanted in,” the shelter shared.

Apparently, Bailey had lived at the shelter so long that she must have felt like it was home. Because when she ran away, that’s exactly where she headed. But it was far away and no one knows how she figured out how she got there.

“She lived at the shelter for so long that this was home to her. She felt safe here. When she got loose she was on a mission to get home,” the shelter shared.

Despite her ordeal, Bailey was safe and the shelter contacted her owner. To ease any concerns, the shelter also said they are “very confident that Bailey is well cared for and loved,” and they plan to stay in touch with Bailey’s family.

Bailey’s dad knows she may be an escape artist and has plans in place to keep her home. He also got her a GPS tracker for her collar, just in case.

The great thing is, he is committed to Bailey and understands her. She has found a forever home with him and even if things got off to a bit of a rocky start, he’s not giving up on his new friend and loves her.

We hope you enjoyed this amazing rescue story. As always, please feel free to share with your friends.
