An adorable puppy was given a second chance at walking as two therapists helped him retrain his back legs.
The video shows a very excited puppy using a doggy wheelchair as he runs around with a bigger, paralyzed dog chasing a play toy.
One therapist assists him as he walks near cones used for his exercises. He then takes off but his back legs weren’t strong enough as he walked faster and they gave out
An adorable puppy was given a second chance at walking as two therapists help him retrain his back legs. First he started out using a doggy wheelchair (pictured)
And then he moves on to some more difficult exercises using cones with some assistance from his therapist
The determined pup then takes on a small ramp (pictured) that leads to a mini trampoline
The therapists cheer him on as he attempts to climb on the mat during the cone exercise.
‘Good job! Nice job! Good boy! Are you walking?’
And as he’s placed onto some blue mats with safety guards in place to keep him walking on a steady path, he slowly puts one foot in front of the other.
Eventually, his back legs give out and he sits down in the middle of the exercise.
One therapist commended his efforts to ‘push himself and get those hips up’.
Even during his swimming exercise, the puppy was using his back legs to help keep himself afloat as he paddled around.
His last exercise consisted of walking on a ‘doggy treadmill’ with the help of one of the therapists who said: ‘You got! Keep your hips up.’
The puppy had a few triumphant moments, but none compared to when he finally got over the ramp and onto the mini trampoline.
And then he stood shakily on all fours.
Once he climbed the ramp he was able to fully hold his hips up and stand while on the trampoline
The puppy underwent some hard training (pictured) as it is still difficult for him to walk without falling. It’s hard for him to get his hips underneath him, according to his therapists, but he’s doing exceptionally well
He also took a swim that helped him exercise his back legs even more
And let’s not forget what looks like a treadmill that he’s able to walk on, with some guidance
